The American Red Cross is the nation's leading provider of quality health and safety programs, products and services. The Red Cross gives people the knowledge to prevent accidents and injuries and the skills to take action that can save lives. The American Red Cross of Licking County provides health and safety training to help the community become a safer place.

In the Community

Last year more than 1,000 community members enrolled in first aid courses which taught them how to prevent, prepare for and respond to health related emergencies. By completing CPR courses, more than 900 learned how to help when someone is choking, stops breathing or has no pulse.

The Red Cross Learn to Swim and aquatics programs taught 900 children water safety techniques. Safety courses are conducted on an ongoing basis by the chapter throughout the community, at the chapter building, schools, churches and community centers. Courses include Standard First Aid, CPR, Lifeguarding, HIV/AIDS education, Water Safety, Babysitting and Sport Safety Training and Workplace Injury Prevention Modules..

In the Workplace

Companies continually strive to provide the safest work environment for their employees. That is why the Red Cross works with companies to provide safety training for workers when and where it best suits them. Courses such as First Aid, CPR, and Preventing Disease Transmission help companies comply with OSHA regulations, improve risk management and make the workplace a safer one.

In the Schools
